Once you get behind on the blogging, it can be a little overwhelming. Let me try to remember some of the best Katybird stories...hmmm....


On Friday (my birthday) Katy partied hard with us at Casa Ole. Ruth looks like Helen might be goosing her! And Sheila taught Katy all kinds of bad things - like breaking up chips and eating rice with your hands.

The naptime picture shows the pillow Laura made and the blanket Helen made, plus Katy's puppy dog. She has been sleeping with one of her dogs lately and it's so adorable!

On Saturday we did the rodeo and here is the proof! Clay Walker was a family-friendly show and a lot of fun! Katy ran errands with her Aunt Kathy and survived!

The weather has been gorgeous lately so Katy has been playing outside a lot. She loves it! I think we're going to buy her a swing set so there is something for her to do...besides sniff flowers and play on our nasty porch swing (that's missing its cushion). She likes to dust all the leaves off and climb aboard.

I know I'm forgetting a ton of bloggable things. Lately Katy has been dancing to music by spinning around with her arms open until she falls down laughing. She can ride on her little white car by herself now, and she can climb onto and down from the sofa with no problem. Speaking of which...which I was vacuuming the sofas, I threw the cushions on the floor and Katy ran and jumped all over them...laughing hysterically! I think that Mom taught her that trick at her house. Now I know what to do when I need to cheer the Bird up!

Today we met Helen and Ruth for lunch and they were cracking me up! Helen taught Katy how to make the "blow your nose" sound and how to make a fish face. Plus she took a ton of pics! Ruth was good at getting Katy to smile!

Instead of "kitty", now Katy points and says, "cat". I love that she points to things. For months we pointed to show her what we meant, and now she returns the favor...plus she blows a kiss to whichever cat is in her vicinity. And tonight Katybird climbed up into my arms and made the eat sign on MY mouth. It was so funny! She was looking so earnest and serious and tapping her little fingers against my lips...to show me how hungry she was. I could FEEL her hunger! Ha ha ha!

Alright, I think that is good for now. I feel much better. Tomorrow we're supposed to have another conference call with a birth couple and hopefully it goes well.
