OK, not a lot of photos tonight. Here is one that may help explain why I'm behind on my blogging lately:

Allen has been fussy and I don't know if it's because of his ingrown toenails (both big toes) or the switch to the new formuly or the fact that he's started having rotovirus diapers. His bum is officially raw as of today. It's very sad. I just soak him in the sink and that seems to help both the toes AND the bum...how convenient. Thankfully Mom came over Friday night after work and babysat so I could run to the grocery store. She also brought dinner over the night before - I am so spoiled! Allen is still adorable, fussy and all! I can't get over how strong he is in the neck, arms and legs. Boys are so different than girls in that department, but I didn't know it started this early.

Katy has been doing a TON of cute things lately and each time I think, "OK, I've just GOT to blog that!" So now I'm going to try to remember them all. Lately when she bathes in the tub she rolls onto her tummy and swishes back and forth saying, "swim, swim" in a sing-song voice. When I ask her a question, she now answers with a thoughtful, "hmmmm" repeated as she deems necessary. She also repeats some basic words like "cup cup" and "cat cat". That's a new trick and it cracks me up. It's like she invented a new word for a cup. Ice cream is now called "cold cold". When Allen cries she automatically yells, "Beebee horngry!" and runs to help make a bottle for him, even if I just fed him. She's also been very helpful by taking dirty diapers to the trash for me, holding them out and saying "yet!" which is how she says "yuck". She tries to bring me a fresh diaper but it's a 50-50 shot that she'll bring the wrong size. Even more helpful, Katy now wants to hold Allen. She reaches out her arms to take him away from me and says, "Hold beebee". She usually gets tired and pushes him away after just a few moments.

Sigh...there's more...poor Allen isn't getting much love on this particular blog entry. When we went to lunch for our 10 year wedding anniversary, we chose the Double Dave's near Peter's work. How romantic! Katy immediately saw the front torso and head of a goat mounted on the wall and it was wearing a garden hat and a Hawaiian lei. She pointed and screamed, "Bow wow wisha hat!" After we corrected her she changed it to, "Goac wisha hat!" and laughed about it the entire time we were there. I can bring it up today and she still laughs. So I showed Katy the movie "Bambi" last night and it opens up with newborn Bambi laying next to his mother. Katy said, "Beebee goac! Mommy goac!" Ahhh ha ha ha ha! It was so funny to me! Bambi is a goac.
Alrighty...I'm getting close to the end here. Katy is now addicted to her Flintstones vitamins and throws a mini-fit each morning when she can only have one. She also loves to play with my makeup and brushing her hair. Lately she's been brushing my hair, too so I guess that's a hint. When I vacuum, which I now do daily or sometimes twice a day, Katy finds her old-timey popping toy that is shaped like a vacuum and she runs all over the house following me. Usually she runs her popper up over my vacuum at some point, but she always rams it a couple times with a direct hit. I guess that her future career won't be in the cleaning industry. And finally, Katy really likes to poke Q-tips into her ears and walk around with them hanging out. I know..this is a very bad thing to allow. Well, yesterday she found a make-up applicator for my brown eye shadow and shoved it in there. I caught her doing it right away, but it took three real Q-tips to clean all the eye shadow out of her ear!
Tomorrow is Ruth's birthday so I've got some shopping to do, then Mexican food for lunch - yum! Then on Thursday Dad is coming over for a slumber party. He's going to cook something for us so there is another meal I don't have to prepare - yay!
Word for the day: goac. Heh heh heh...

You crack me up! Kaitlyn does the q-tip thing too. I think she's really needs her ears cleaned though.
