San Francisco was wonderful! We pulled into our very own driveway exactly 24 hours ago last night. That's right...2:00am. Mom woke up and filled us in on Katy's evening. Then I had to snuggle up and get some Katy time. She woke up a little and smiled at both of us...it was so sweet! Mom said she probably woke up and saw us and thought this past week has been a dream!
Anywho, it's too late to do all the San Fran details. I will hope to catch up in the next week, or so but with Christmas around the corner I am feeling the pressure. Most of my shopping is done but none of my wrapping! And Katybird will not be very helpful in that department.
I really missed Katy but it was wonderful to sleep in and relax with no thought to meal preparation or dirty diapers. I so completely appreciate all the helpful hands that pitched in to make this trip possible for us!
One thing about today...I took Katy to the mall to try for a smiling Santa photo. I had no business wasting time like that, but she was in the sassy red Santa dress and white booties...what could I do? We arrived at Santa's castle in time for him to leave for a lunch break at 1pm. We waited at the front of the line until 2pm. Santa was late returning and each minute that ticked by brought Katy further down sleepytime lane. So when he finally sat down and patted his lap she immediately erupted in tears! Anyway, it is now officially on the record that i tried to get a smiling Santa pic for the 2006 Christmas. I didn't feel like paying $20 for two 3x5 photos of Katy crying so I have nothing to show for all my efforts. Next year should be better...
