Today was a day of FIRST's for Katy Bird. We went to church today - late - not new. Then we told Katy we were taking her to a party and her face lit up! Peter set her down in the church nursery with about four other kids and she walked away without so much as a look back at us. We just kind of stood there with shocked looks on our faces. After 17 months she was bored with us. So we walked out and stood in the hall for a few minutes to wait for her to notice our absence and cry. After 30 minutes of smiles and giggles, we gave up and went to class. Katy's first time in a nursery situation went gloriously well! We are so relieved, proud, happy...all the usual things! Then next FIRST happened at 4pm when Karli came to pick Katy up for a "test drive". Since we're planning on Karli staying here at the house with our precious Nugget, we wanted Karlie to see what she was getting into. No Mommy or Daddy or Grandma's to help. After a couple of hours Karli came back and reported that Katy was practically perfect! Yea! Now I'm even more relieved! Looks like we'll be in San Francisco next week minus one Katy. I'm trying to not think about it because I already miss her.

Peter is in Alabama tonight for work. His flight from our local airport was cancelled so he had to drive to Houston and catch a later one. He'll be there until Wed, fly here, and then Thursday will find us both on a plane headed to San Fran.
