Pictures speak 1,000 words, right? So I'm behind on blogging and here is my catch-up. On Thursday Katy had her 18-month dr. appointment and she recognized the doctor's office for the first time. Peter met us there and she was crying as soon as we went into the exam room and all through the visit. She amped it up a bit for the three shots and then cried a little more that afternoon when I changed her diaper and she saw her bandaids. Poor little bird. She enjoyed walking this dinosaur all over the kitchen and would make a mad face when it tipped over and she couldn't drag it as fast.
Yesterday we had lunch with Peter and gave her some lemon. It wasn't her first time...we've done this to her before. And she kept letting us put it on her tongue like she thought it would taste better if she could get through the outer layer or something. We were going to the park after lunch but Katy fell asleep so after her nap we just played in the front yard. She worked her way up the hill on the left side of our house and then turned and ran/stumbled down the hill. At the bottom she usually fell, then stood up and clapped with a proud grin on her face!
Her accomplishments for the past couple days: Mom got her to say "thank you" again, which she hasn't done for a while. Peter has her saying "cow" and Sarah talked to her on the phone, prompting Katy to say her first sentence, "Hi Sarah!" Now, Peter claims that this is not a sentence, but instead an exclamation. I say that since it's stringing together two words in a logical format, it counts as her first sentence. And now it goes down in the records as happening on 01-05-07, just before her 18-month mark.
Hopefully I'll blog tonight for today and get back on schedule.
Meg
